Chinatown



This is North America's second biggest Chinatown, after San Francisco's. Mandarin and Cantonese are the mother tongues in 30 per cent of Vancouver homes, which makes Chinese the largest "minority" ethnic group. There are lots of interesting markets with many varieties of fresh and dried seafood and mushrooms. You'll also find inexpensive houseware and traditional Chinese medicine.


During the summer, on weekend evenings, Keefer and Pender Streets become a busy open-air night market. If you have time for a leisurely meal, try dim sum at one of the many small restaurants. It is an inexpensive, multi-course culinary adventure. Relax in the peaceful Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, or marvel at the ornate Millennium Gate - just steps away on Pender Street. Visit the Chinese Cultural Centre Museum, or participate in one of its many activities.

so far for Years, this is one of the BEST roast duck/meat rice restaurant I've ever had. best in canada! :D

Gas Town

Gastown is an area of Vancouver, British Columbia, located at the northeast end of Downtown adjacent to the Downtown Eastside. Its historical boundaries were the waterfront, Columbia Street, Hastings Street, and Cambie Street, which were the borders of the first townsite survey, the proper name and postal address of which was Granville


Gastown is a refreshing mix of old and new, downhome and upscale, a place for tourists, Vancouver residents and office workers alike. Various shops have the streets buzzing during the day. A host of restaurants and nightspots keeps the area humming into the wee hours. And, more and more, Gastown is becoming home to permanent residents… just like in the old days! :)



heh, the clock is unique in the sense that, it moves by gas, not battery or electricity!!
If I ain't wrong, when every hour strikes, the clock will give a lovely chime with gas smoking out.

Stanley Park



Stanley Park is recognized around the globe as one of the great parks of the world! Vancouver's first park and one of the city's main tourist attractions, Stanley Park is an evergreen oasis close to the downtown core. Its natural west coast atmosphere offering a back drop of majestic cedar, hemlock and fir trees embraces visitors and transports them to an environment rich in tranquility. Grouce Mountain


we actually wanted to go over to Whistler, but driving there takes 2+hours, and pop was kinda tired... so in the end we went over to grouce mountian instead.
It's all the same :)





during late november onwards, the whole of whistler/ grouce mountain will be covered with THICK SNOW, and this is where fun comes in ......

this time round,
we came in two months earlier to avoid the snowing period, so of course there aren't snowing but acorns and Autumn leaves falling everywhere.

The Grizzly Bear, also known as the Silvertip Bear, is a subspecies of brown bear that lives in the uplands of western North America.
Grizzlies are normally solitary active animals, but in coastal areas the grizzly congregates alongside streams, lakes, rivers, and ponds during the salmon spawn. A sow is very protective of her offspring and will attack if she thinks she or her cubs are being threatened.

A lumberjack or logger is a man who harvests lumber. It usually refers to a logger from an earlier time before the advent of chainsaws, feller-bunchers and other modern logging equipment.

Next,




Capilano River



The Capilano River, flowing north to south through the Coast Mountains, is located on Vancouver's North Shore, opposite Stanley Park. The river is one of three primary sources of drinking water for residents of Greater Vancouver.



My educational Salmon Hunt ! :D



The Capilano has a historic salmon run which was impacted by the dam construction. A hatchery was built 1/2 km downstream of the dam to ensure the survival of the run
The salmon run is the time at which salmon swim back up the rivers in which they were born to spawn. All Pacific salmon die after spawning. While most Atlantic salmon die after their first spawn, about 5-10% (mostly female) return to the sea to feed between spawnings. The annual run is a major event for sport fisherman.

Capilano Suspension Bridge


The Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of the greatest suspension bridge crossing the Capilano River in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The current bridge is 136 metres long and 70 metres above the river.


Pulses quicken as we step onto the swaying planks of Vancouver's first visitor attraction! Breathe in the cedar-scented rainforest air as we make our way across Vancouver's famous landmark. Capilano Suspension Bridge takes people to the natural splendor of rainforest trails through magnificent evergreens and the unique perspective of Treetops Adventure, a walk high in the trees.
