met up siti, leyyee and farain to school today ard 12+pm
had lunch in mac ..
and went to library to MUG for our C-Maths paper for the next day.
hard time studying maths manz.. I LOVE MATHS! ( duh? *puke*) haha

went back home ard 6+pm for quickly dinner and watch Hana Kimi! yay~ haha
tmr episode even more exciting.. ella's brother( jun jie) finding out tat his sister is in boy's school ! must watch. hahaz

Math anxiety saps working memory needed to do math

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Worrying about how you'll perform on a math test may actually contribute to a lower test score, U.S. researchers said on Saturday.

Math anxiety -- feelings of dread and fear and avoiding math -- can sap the brain's limited amount of working capacity, a resource needed to compute difficult math problems, said Mark Ashcroft, a psychologist at the University of Nevada Los Vegas who studies the problem.

"It turns out that math anxiety occupies a person's working memory," said Ashcroft, who spoke on a panel at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in San Francisco.

Ashcroft said while easy math tasks such as addition require only a small fraction of a person's working memory, harder computations require much more.

Worrying about math takes up a large chunk of a person's working memory stores as well, spelling disaster for the anxious student who is taking a high-stakes test.
Stress about how one does on tests like college entrance exams can make even good math students choke. "All of a sudden they start looking for the short cuts," said University of Chicago researcher Sian Beilock.

Although test preparation classes can help students overcome this anxiety, they are limited to students whose families can afford them.
Ultimately, she said, "It may not be wise to rely completely on scores to predict who will succeed."
While the causes of math anxiety are unknown, Ashcroft said people who manage to overcome math anxiety have completely normal math proficiency.

hello



today was 3rd day of newyr.
was at home whole day. no one came my house alrdy.. coz..... yesterday EVERY relative all came at one shot together to my house like every other yr as usual. haha



ate alot yesterday nite. my parents cook alot as usual.(buffet style) and i do the serving. my relatives even ordered extra like KFCs and Swensen's mago IceCream cake. heex.. yum !


overall, was tired but fun gathering together. most funniest part.. during dinner, everyone was eagerly sitting in the living room watching Hana Kimi (花样)! haha.. especialy my 40+ yr old aunt.. can't believe she was crazy over it! cute aunty i have. haha
so today, i rested whole afternn simply bcoz i didnt sleep well at all yesterday night. haha


anyway today is sailesh, firdaus and our SIT vise-president Calvin Tang's birthday !

how's everyone's cny- 大年初一 today ? had fun eatting and getting red packets? ^^
yesterday was CNY EVE .. was watching count down on channel 8... pray to my ancestors .. and continue watching till late 4am !
my parents actually went to sleep ard 2+pm .. and i was all alone in the living room watching jacky wu's variety show. haha
i like all of jacky wu's show la. very funny and entertaining. laugh alots ahha.. got 5566 as guest also .. everyone bully that xu chun mei.. pour water/cabbages/cooked noodles.. wakaka...

so i went to sleep at 4am.. and can't believe.. wokeup 1pm this morning by my Dad. if he didnt wake me up.. i bet i'll be continue to sleep and sleep... manz.. 1st time wakeup SO LATE ! haha.. too tired ba :/

today only went grandma's house to bai nian and have lunch. aunt was there too. ( she's another one asking me "why u CUT off ur VERY looong hair ?! .... but actually still quite long. ahha)
afternoon.. not much tv show ..
turn out ..... everyone in the house..... we all watch Project Superstar the repeat telly cast. ahahaha .... my aunt wan watch it.. coz she didnt watch the finals tat time. i watch bcoz .. was still not bored of it ! :P

back home n the evening
rot and played my piano. haha ! was itchy hand.. went to try playing 被爱的女人 + 专属天使 on my piano.. the remix effect was not tat bad :D
tonight .. nothing much to watch on tv too. yawns.. my poor mum n dad were tired. dad still gotta work night shift. zzz

tmr ALL my relatives will be coming. dang .. so crowded.. me and my parents gotta prepare to cook alot of food for dinner alrdy. tired !

hello

this morning wokeup super early at 6am to acc mum to market till 11am
rush back home as i thought i was late for the meet with my frenz which the time was set on 10.40am.

but guess wat?
None of the other 3 friends arrived at all when i reached khatib mrt station.
raja .. who wanted us to come 10.30am ... ownself oversleep till 12pm. well done. ahha
pr .. got something on with her bf .. so reached late, understandable.
qh .. yesterday still blab tat she can come early like 8+,9am too... end up came the latest ..near 1pm . haha

ahha.. so i was the kuku one .. standing there frm 11 to 1+pm. GREat eh? lol
so i went orchard 1st.. ( changed venue plan) .. walked ard while waiting for them.

i dun understand why i have such patience =.= ...

anyway.. when all arrived.. we went to chill at Starbucks, den to cineleisure's LJS for lunch as we chat and catch up with each other.. shopped ard and cam whore. haha .. talked about memories during sec sch .. was very funny :)

not that i dun wan give him face la .. ahha .. BUT really had no time plz .. coz im really late for my music class. he still ask me give him 5mins.

.. i broke one of my toe nail in the market this morning.. coz market was so crowded with ppl doing last min shopping for CNY.. and sum1 stepped on my toe!
tadah .. it made it even more a tiring frm such long walk frm morning till evening ! :(

hello

today didnt study. went out with my gal frens to P.S to catch a movie.
had lunch 1st at LJS.. such a coincidence seeing my classmates- jos,gengz and jinyi there. haha

luckily i didnt go marina sq with ky yesterday .. heard my classmates were there too. ahha.. worse.. sm say she went marina's kbox yesterday afternn.. which i may be going too... haha.. small small world la !!! =P

so we girls went to movie after lunch.
i tot EPIC looks nice.. but turn out. it kinda sux.. haha ...
i mean the movie was very funny. we did laugh at the silly jokes in the movie.. but they were very very lame and abit yucks.. so when u come out of the cinema.. u can feel abit stupid.. lol

hehe .. i didnt watch scary movie1,2,3,4 before.. so was told by my frenz.. they were sorta similar to EPIC.. like gathering all the movies into one funny nonsense.
im so curious who the heck is the director of these movies..very great imagination. funny but totally no sense at all.. hehe.. ..

if u wan to watch a movie just for a laugh to destress... its fine... but i won't recommend u to watch it if u are yearning for good movie.. kinda waste of money.. haha ... maybe try catching ghost rider instead(by nicholas cage)? .. thatz wat i regreted too. haha ;)
norbit is yucks by seeing the "woman" .. ahha.. justnow we bought popcorns from cinema.. with the norbit fat lady pic on the popcorn box.. can lose abit appetite eh? haha.... just jk ^^
just follow law seems funny too eh.. starring fann wong and gurmit. haha.. i always support local :))

after the movie.. we went to clark quay
wasted non of us rmbred sm to bring camera.. so all we can do is using hp's camera.. better den nothing.. but didnt take much coz sm's hp memory abit full le. haha..
i shall upload the pics nxt week once she send it to me :))

chilled at clark quay's TCC.
was enjoyable. the enviroment was very nice. (i love the beanie chair manz! haha) .. ordered ice latte and cake to share as we chatted and cam whore again.
anyway.. well done fara .. for getting the wrong TCC. haha.. nxt time call ur fren to confirm 1st ah.. hee ! :D :D
went home afterwards.. to rush to catch 7pm's Hana Kimi as i had my dinner. haha.. nice show .. even all my malay frenz are watching it le. lol
went off to northpoint with mum to do some more CNY grocery shopping. lol

tmr at 1st decided to study in sch. but seems alot of my classmates are lazy to come seh .. sm dun wan come too.. zzz
so ain't going sch tmr .. my ex sec sch buddies are asking me out to chill. such a long time since we meet up... raja so excited to meet up sia.. ahha.. fei! i miss u guys too :)
going to play billard tmr.. place to go doesnt really matter. meeting gd frenz which we rarely meet is a MUST to treasure such short but good moments yea? :)

okie dokie.. im off for now. gotta wakeup very early again. had to acc mum for last min shopping in the supermarket. haha !

me and miss erna went to the school library to mug abit for exam. frm 11 to 2+pm .. went to FJ for lunch... and went to the lab to find Mr josiah goh.. to show him my IP Project. lucky my ip proj was okie le! :D .. mr josiah goh better let me pass my IP ! haha

nth much after that. back home,dinner and telly.

oh mans.. the uploading of photo lags like anything. cant upload finish those silly pics taken during comm skills presentation.
oh well.. had to delay that entry again :/

now is study break le b4 CNY..den exam.. Zzz
2 days ago..
went changi airport with sm to study abit..
but didnt study much.. coz she dun wan to. so we end up taking photos, walking round the beautiful airport and went off to her house to watch youtube / TV/ munching junkies.
watching what youtube? hahaha hana kimi ! [花样少年少女] .. hehe so funny..
cant wait for the actual screening on Channel U this coming thurs 7pm..
super exaggerating! must watch ! :D :D :D

today..
i went school to study abit with erna wita. not much la..
had lunch.. came back .. join hongwei,des n tangbin's table. stopped studying le.. coz was helping hw to solve his IP Proj. zz
( oh mans.. i called ms wong justnow ... she say josiah goh booked da lab for E6 tmr to show him our IP projects sia... dang~ not allow to send thru email or disc!..zzz .. so some of us had to go present him the proj le.. zzz)

after which at 4+pm .. went off to meet dylan at causewaypoint.
went to passup my punchcard and paperwork ..etc.... and went shopping around the watch shop and mr yap bought that watch which he has been discussing on for so long. zzz ..
haha i wan say sorry to malvina. hope i can help her to get a customer for buying it soon ! :))

during evening after dinner went off to khatib central with my parents for more newyear shopping. they have been buying more and more CNYprinting decos ..
haha.. and porky pig is so cute ! :D
next year is Mouse year leh .. got any mickey or minnie mouse related CNY decos ma? i wan !! keke~ :D

hello

dang~ i ended work at 11pm today.. but had to serve a last min customer.. had to do some paperwork/ sales report totalup and msg my company... by the time.. 11.15pm le..
when i rush to the platform... the train came and there's an announcement:
" this is the Last train to marina bay. Please board immediately!"
tsk tsk! .. holy~ i nearly missed my last Train justnow !
*phew*

at 1st i'm not working from this weekend till end of this month due to coming end-of-year2 exams. need to study b4 CNY.. haha coz 1st paper is 22th !! :((
haha

but .. i in the end gotta go back to work today... to relief my colleague on last min MC. zzzz ....
so tired due to lately nvr sleep well coz of common test and projects ... thought of taking nap during the afternoon justnow.. den end up must work... manz... can't take my nap le ! .. ahha
hmm..... not bad actually.. coz today Metro 20% sales !
and my sales wasnt so bad. did around 1.6K ! ... yayz ~~~~ :D :D

adeline came woodlands metro to relief work coz of 20% .. so happy to see my hao jie mei ! miss u lots! :D
had dinner with ex-colleague nures. very sweet of her coming down accompanying me for dinner at work :)
we ate at banquet . met her bf also.. nice guy eh nures? hahaz (n_n)
went walking around causeway point .. looking at HPs, cameras.. and of coz.. take photos as usual .. keke~ :D ...

20% sales was so tiring today... especially my legs. haha
:( ... and im not feeling very well .. sore throat too.. luckily alvin got sweet for soothing my throat :D

anyway yesterday was the release of O-level results.
heard alot of my juniors didn't do well. haix... cheer up yea!
and happy for nures getting a not bad result too !
i hope u all will be able to get into the courses u'll liked :)

im finally done with all my projects at last !
yesterday night didnt sleep. did finished my IP project.
mr josiah goh ask us to come back sch to hand in proj yesterday around 6+pm.. but the timing he gave clashed with my music class... so i wasnt able to handup to him.. and he doesnt have a school email.. was unable to send him the project too.

... and so i sent to Ms wong. a email replied saying she was away frm office.. will reply me soon went she return.
oh manz... means she coming tuesday den can pass my project to josiah goh leh ! haix.. i hope tat mr goh wont deduct my marks.

as i said earlier on .. there are 5 rounds to compete Rock, Unplugged, HipHop, Jazz and self-picked song.

congrats both of them of having a big achievement .. being able to cross every stage and standing on stage as female and male champions ..competiting on grand finals at indoor stadium.

actually both Diya and szewei did well. (especially their duet part of FIR's 天天夜夜. very nice manz ! ) ... szewei .. from auditons... to revival round, "起死回生" haaha came back to stage and 越战越勇 with beautiful scores into finals !

overall.. i see the score of 2 to 3 .. diya won by 1. haha .. but i got confidence in him to do well !
seriously the result show was scary la. half way through the spinning of their 2 photos .. they suddenly shut all the indoor stadium lights. dang~i was like " HOI ! who who who !" to the tv screen .. haha

and bit by bit the screen appeared the lil parts of the face.. which made everyone gluing to the screen, seeing who the heck tat face was. haha
and ... TADA ! szewei WON ! 3 Cheers once again !

hello

work till 6pm today. sales was alright :)
had lunch with ah jade.
went back home to washup. mum and dad went downstairs to eat. they help me tabao back late dinner for me as i wanna watch pss2 grand finals. haha

Just finished watching sze wei and diya singing in the grand finals. now eagerly waiting for result.
im worried for sze wei ! coz in all the 5 rounds .. diya won szewei ..3 to 2 .
i tink it's becoz szewei is tensed up during the competition .. so it affected partially compared to his usual performances.
nevertheless, im proud of u sze wei , that u sang ur best and i enjoyed the performances .. no matter how the result will turn out to be .... im confidence in u ! jia you jia you !

hello

past few days.. did so many projects, study for common tests... till so late.. really nvr sleep much.. TIRED !!

today i didn't work.
in the morning, did alot of spring cleaning with mum, went out with her to buy some new year goodies.... and taught my dad how to use his new phone functions.. haha

and.. i can't imagined that i slept for the whole afternoon at home from 1+pm to 7+pm ... and my mum still had to call me up so many times .. when i wokeup.. i still felt so tired and dizzy. aaha
now im quite awake due to the nap this afternn... haha

i bought back dinner for me and my mum.

she always saw me playing with stray cats and kittens roaming around our flat.

haha.. and she always nagged at me.

lala~

i really love cats and kittens ! Cute !! :D .. puppies and dogs will be next! huskies are my favourite :D

i wish i have a pet to cuddle and play with at home.. being the only child .. can be lonely and boring at times .. hmm ... lol

at first .. i would like to upload all my CommSkills presentation photos and blog a long entry about it today....
but i seems to have some problem uploading my photos. blogger server kept appearing errors.. dang~
so i guess i will upload and delay blogging about the presentation which happened on last thurs....
update about it maybe tmr night or some other day .. appologises about it eh? .... hehe

for now.. shall blog something else !
i was happy. tmr at 1st work mid shift frm 12 to 8pm..
but yesterday afternoon, my manager call me to change to work frm 10 to 6pm coz one of my colleague was on MC !!
YAY~ :D :D
coz .. i can go home even earlier to watch PSS2 LIVE ... (which gonna be held at Singapore Indoor Stadium) ... at 7.30pm tmr night on Channel U ! yay~ :))

tmr there's even soccer match on sg VS thai ! ..
but i shall watch PSS2 la.. more exciting to watch the singing competition..
haha soccer match result ... can watch it on news :P
