From August 27 - November 19, every Monday 8-9pm

Incorporating online voting with reality voting, Hey! Gorgeous is a talent scouting programme that scours Singapore’s tertiary institutions for students blessed with great genes. Each episode will also feature a celebrity alumnus of the school as guest host!

Starting since May, Students can first log on to the Hey! Gorgeous website to nominate and vote for any talented hunks and babes in their schools.
The production crew will then review the online voting results before going down to the school to shortlist and select the contestants. The latter can showcase their diverse talents to draw votes during recording.

The programme will go to one tertiary institution in each episode to select one hunk and one babe representative to enter the Semi-Finals.
Each of the Semi-Finals will be held on the beach to allow the contestants to fully demonstrate their youthful vitality. Five hunks and five babes will enter the Grand Final.
The Grand Final will be telecast ‘live’ and voting will be via SMS.

The tertiary institutions participating in the programme include:Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts; Nanyang Polytechnic; Nanyang Technological University; National University of Singapore; Ngee Ann Polytechnic; Singapore Institute of Management; Republic Polytechnic; Singapore Management University; Singapore Polytechnic; and Temasek Polytechnic.

hello.

quick update.

common tests over. projects over.
exam... 1 down.
left last ddi paper on nxt tuesday morning. killer..zzz :(
silly flu and cough.. lack of sleep... work ...... & i cant wait for holiday la.. lol

CSS2.. GRAND FINALS tonight 7.30 to 11pm channel8.

paiseh ah.. i nvr even watch a single episode, so dun really noe who is who .... or can say.. watched maybe only 1st episode and finals... ahhaa dun wan watch coz no comment
unlike 1st season.. the moment i was listening to recordings frm audition .... ."hey.. who sang this? it was soooo nice tat voice" .. haha..and i was alrdy like attracted immediately to zy's vocal... tatz why i support frm 1st ep till the end for him la.. wahaha..


this season2 really standard drop alot..

shaun singing was quite alrite ... not bad not bad (although his deep voice dont quite match his little kid face at all.. haha)..... :)
judges say tat when he sing love songs.. he doesnt have enough emotions coz he haven much relationship experience since he's only 13 yrs old .. lol!!

keely's pretty .. sweet and unique voice but singing not as good man .. offkeys and duet wasnt so good when blending voice .... :( ......
and dunno why she weirdweird juznw.... alot ppl say she kee siao liao ( even my parents say so.. ahha)
.. judges kept giving bad comments about wrong song she chosen.. duet no good... she still keep on laughing in a weird goosebump way...

whahaha ... den u can be the next champion, next sgIdol, next ali baba SingingChampionship.. etc.

... isnt it crap? u win but u dun have a true quality.

but well of coz if u have quality and got alot of supporters.. tatz alrite duh~

a fair competition.. well at least shld be the other way round.. 70% judge... 30% audience votes... like that at least can know where u stand from professional judging yea~

after this css competition... got starsearch... got heygorgeous ... vote-mania again.

and tv host will start to " start ur voting now to support ur favourite contestants!!" whoo hoo (-_-)

excuse me .. everyone's gonna be broke la...especially those crazy fans who spam so much to support......

.. can change it to be like 1cent per sms if u wan us to vote every few mth? :P

mediacorp.. like almost every 1, 2 months got organise competition .. everyone's money always go to vote, call, sms... to support ppl
earn big bucks la like tat....
but with all these money...
why nvr produce out a good standard show ?...
and yet ppl always complain on newspaper:
" hoi ah niaa ~~ i pay so much for my tvshow fees... why u all always give us watch the old or repeated shows??"
no competition le... den they organise sooo many charity show after that.. LOL~ same concept? zzzz ... charity tvshow the call and donate money de .. still haven include government tax mind u.. lol


( not as if it's voting for PAP.) ... and government say : " u all must have more babies ah~ aging is getting serious... we wan the new generations to grow and may our country prosper with brainy ones)
aye~~~ sg ppl go vote for all these money-ed competitions almost every few mths liao ... of coz no money to support for more babies's expenses maa.. logic? haha

apologises for the lack of updates recently for weeks... no time! no time! no time ! :(

for the past 2 weeks happenings:

lotsa Projects to rush! and common tests to study ! ....

was terribly STRESS and more STRESS!
lousy mood :(

plus i accidentally lost my thumbdrive last last week in lab after i went toilet.

big shock have i got! .. damn it. i tot i gotta redo all my projects la. luckily got backup.

and thank god i got my thumbdrive back!! big big thankyou to weijie frm ecc.. very kind soul :)

projects are coming to an end.(yayness) ... just 1 or 2 more projects for a lil editing.
common test for MAD on days ago was yuck-adoodoo.
dead meats for everyone. haa~

friday's IAD common test was soso ba... but wish there was more time for us to do la..like maybe 1/2hr more? make the paper 2hr laaa ...coz there's so much we want to write man! got storyboarding to draw somemore... omg ...zz

god bless everyone to pass all the common test and exams :)

nevertheless.. i watch ndp on teeveeee~ !

this year's ndp was special.. 1st time at marina bay after many years of being organised at singapore stadium.

it was not bad. lovely view :)

the show was has some quite exaggerating parts .. and 1 or 2 scene changing too sudden.

but overall.... was quite funny and touching :)

I like the Hit little man scene in 881 movie. damn funny...

I rate it 3 and a 1/2 nacho chips :)

The Seventh Month. The only month in the Chinese lunar Calendar when the Gates of Hades are thrown open, and ghosts, spirits and all departed souls make their annual pilgrimage back into the land of the living.

In the seventh month, Chinese folks in places like Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong burn incense and joss sticks, conduct prayers and make offerings to the returning dead. In Singapore, however, they take the business of placating and entertaining the spirits one step further. They have "getai" (song stage), makeshift concerts which pop up all over the island.

Each year, more than 500 of these concerts take place during the Hungry Ghosts Month. Entertainers lined up include comedians, magicians, opera performers and singers with garish costumes and even more elaborate dance choreography. Royston Tan's new movie 881 unfolds against this unique cultural backdrop in Singapore. It is the story of two childhood friends who grew up mesmerised by the glitter and glamour of getai. They are The Papaya Sisters, two of the showiest performers on the circuit because the "song stage" with all its pomp and pageantry is a respite from the emptiness and dreariness of their own lives.

881 will mark yet another breakthrough for Royston, whose first feature film 15 is a visceral and gritty look at teenage delinquents. His second film 4.30 - about a latchkey kid and his Korean tenant - surprised audiences with its pared down, meditative and almost lyrical storytelling.

This new film is a musical, with glitzy costumes and lavish choreography. The actors often break into song to express their emotions. All the numbers in the movie are from the treasure trove of the late Chen Jin lang, a Singapore getai songwriting legend who died in August 2006. A cross between Dancer In the Dark and Moulin Rouge, 881 will also feature documentary-style (ie "live") footage which captures the fever and excitement of actual getai performances.
